As the name implies, a refrigerated air dryer works by cooling down the air (like a refrigerator). The warm wet air enters the dryer, where it is cooled down to about 3 degrees Celsius. Moisture Content in the air condenses into water. The liquid water is then removed from the compressed air by a water-trap.

Dryer Sizing Formula is “ FAD / Kp / Ka / Ki “
For Eg : if compressed air FAD is 200 cfm @ 40 Bar(g) with 40 °C Ambient and 50 °C Outlet
then as per the correction factors listed above corrections are Kp = 1, Ka = 0.85 & Ki = 0.85 respectively
so dryer sizing can be calculated as 200 / 1/ 0.85 / 0.85 i.e 276 cfm, and in this case Model HP300 would be Suitable to handle the flow & heat Load.
